The development of Zogics ecoPRO Disinfecting Wipes started with a key question: How can we create an effective, environmentally friendly cleaning solution without sacrificing quality or effectiveness? The R&D process involved multiple stages, each crucial in transforming this question into a tangible, groundbreaking product.

Stage 1: Ideation and Market Research

Our team began by identifying gaps in the market, gathering feedback from gym operators and users, and studying the latest research on natural disinfectants and biodegradable materials. We also examined existing products, assessing their strengths and shortcomings, not to discredit them, but to learn and understand how we could differentiate our product while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.

Stage 2: Concept Development

Once we understood what was needed, the concept of a biodegradable, plant-based gym disinfectant wipe was developed. This step involved detailed discussions on the feasibility, potential environmental impact, and technical challenges of creating such a product.

Stage 3: Material Selection and Formulation Development

The choice of material for the wipes and the formulation of the disinfectant were pivotal steps. We tested several biodegradable materials to find the most durable yet eco-friendly option. For the disinfectant, our chemists explored various plant-based compounds known for their antimicrobial properties. A 100% plant-based formula free of bleach, dyes, phosphates, parabens, phenol, and phthalates was developed after rigorous testing to ensure its efficacy against 99.9% of common germs, including SARS-CoV-2, which causes COVID-19.

Stage 4: Prototype Development and Testing

Prototypes were created and tested through stringent cleaning efficiency, safety, biodegradability, and shelf-life tests. Each round of testing provided valuable feedback, leading to several iterations of the product to improve its effectiveness and environmental footprint. The final product meets EPA Design for Environment (DfE) standards, the stringent EPA criteria for efficacy and effects on human health and the environment.

Stage 5: Final Product and Market Launch

Once the product met all our stringent standards, the final stage involved scaling up production while maintaining the high quality of each wipe. The product was then launched to our vast network of more than 20,000 gym operators, with a dedicated campaign to educate them on the environmental benefits and effectiveness of Zogics ecoPRO Disinfecting Wipes.

Developing the Zogics ecoPRO Disinfecting Wipes was more than an R&D project; it was a journey of merging innovation with sustainability. It is a testament to our ongoing commitment to delivering cleanliness to gyms while respecting and preserving our shared environment. This pursuit embodies Zogics’ ethos of promoting a cleaner, healthier world, one gym at a time.
